There will be lane 2 closures on both carriageways between Little Burdon
and the Sadberge crossover.

The lane 2 closures on both carriageways will be moved from near Little Burdon
to near Sandy Leas Lane.

Thursday 23-Feb-2012 Day shift
There will be lane 2 closures on both carriageways in the area near
Sandy Leas Lane.

Thursday 23-Feb-2012 Night shift
The A66 westbound carriageway (i.e. towards Darlington) will be closed between
Elton and Little Burdon, with traffic diverted via Durham Lane and the A67.
This is to allow the safe installation of the contra flow for the next
phase of the work.

Friday 24-Feb-2012 Day shift
The A66 eastbound carriageway (i.e. towards Stockton) will be closed between
the reservoir and Sandy Leas Lane, and traffic will be run on the westbound
carriageway in a contra flow system.
The eastbound Long Newton slip road will be closed, with traffic diverted via
the A67 and Mill Lane, or via the A66. No diversions will be signed
through Elton or Long Newton.
The junction between Back Lane and the A66 will be closed.
There will be no exit from the A66 to Sandy Leas Lane, but it will be possible
to access the eastbound A66 from Sandy Leas Lane.

Friday 24-Feb-2012 Night shift
The A66 eastbound carriageway (i.e. towards Stockton) will be closed between
Little Burdon and Elton, with traffic diverted via the A67 and Durham Lane.

Saturday 25-Feb-2012 onwards
Contra flow as for the Friday 24-Feb-2012 day shift
This contra flow is expected to be in place for one week.
Overview
Work commenced at 00:01 hrs on Monday 23-Jan-2012 and will comprise of lane
closures, full carriageway closures and a contra flow system.
Works are scheduled to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are expected to
last for up to 6 weeks.
Complete carriageway closures will be between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Fully signed diversion routes will be in place during these complete
carriageway closures.
Access to affected properties will be maintained at all times either by
signed diversions or by a works escort service.
