Here is an archive of the "latest news" bulletins on the Sadberge Renewable Energy Project.

As of Monday 4-Jul-2011, a total of 31 properties have been nominated to participate in the project.  The list includes:-

• 3 private properties in the village
• 15 council properties in the village
• 1 property in West Newbiggin
• 2 farms
• Sadberge Village Hall
• the Dogs Trust rehoming centre

29-Jun-2011    The paperwork needed to form Sadberge Renewable Energy Limited has gone off to Companies House.  Twenty-three Sadberge residents have each signed up for an initial £10 stake in the company.

8-Jun-2011     Excellent news!  The inital estimate from CE Electric indicates that they will be able to provide grid connections for all the participating properties without any additional cost to the property owners.  That's still a preliminary finding, though, and will need to be confirmed by a formal quote.

24-May-2011     The Climate Change Working Group has appointed Durham-based Cleaner Air Solutions UK Ltd. as the preferred supplier for the project.  Cleaner Air Solutions will carry out surveys of the nominated properties and provide firm quotes.  Once the quotes are available it will be up to the individual householders to decide whether to go ahead and place their orders.
