Precept

The parish precept is the annual funding that the Parish Council obtains from households within the parish.  Darlington Borough Council collects the parish precept as an element of Council Tax, and then passes it on to the Parish Council.  The Parish Council determines its precept requirement in December each year as part of the process of setting its budget for the following financial year (which runs from April to the following March).

The grant is the annual grant from Darlington Borough Council.  It is made entirely at the discretion of the Borough Council.
